Martin Bellamy – CIO of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) – Founding G-Cloud with 120 volunteers

In 2010 Martin Bellamy was appointed to develop the cloud strategy for British public sector and as a result, to develop G-Cloud, UK government-supported cloud platform for public sector organisations.

He ended up inspiring 120 volunteers from the public and IT sector to commit dozens of hours a week to work on this project. He also wrote his PhD thesis on using cloud computing for government services and is now leading FCA through moving out of physical datacenter infrastructure.
