The Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and 5G are helping address growing global safety concerns by turning real-time event monitoring into actionable insight. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Solutions helps security surveillance technology providers (SSTPs) create video surveillance systems that enable CCTV customers to collect, process, and analyze vast amounts of information at the edge to protect people and facilities.

Growth of surveillance monitoring

Demand for security systems is on the rise. By the end of 2025, the global video surveillance market is expected to account for US$43.8bn, escalating at a compound annual growth rate of 11.8%.1 In the US, this growth is fueled by significant investments from the government and defense authorities. Elsewhere, specifically in Asia, rising security concerns around crime, civil unrest and terrorist threats are a driving force.

The use of CCTV cameras in business is also growing at a vast rate. Manufacturers are using video surveillance to improve health and safety and increase efficiency on the production line. Oil and gas companies are monitoring CCTV footage to secure remote pipelines, and retailers are using cameras to gather information to boost sales, track inventory and improve customer service.

This increased demand for video surveillance offers huge revenue generating potential for CCTV businesses and SSTPs. But this growing market opportunity also presents a challenge.
